A new Spring Bud College charity project targeting girls from impoverished families was launched at Polus International College in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan Province, on October 22.

The Nu Skin Spring Bud College project sponsored by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund and the Nu Skin Foundation aims at helping girls of the right age from impoverished families in China's western region, including Sichuan Province, to obtain financial aid, vocational training and employment opportunities.

As one part of the Spring Bud Project, the Spring Bud College Project began on October 10, 2017, heralding the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11. The project aims at providing free vocational education and career planning to girls from impoverished families, helping them step smoothly into society and escape poverty.

Wang Haijing, Deputy Secretary-General of the CCTF, said that the Spring Bud Project launched its updated event, the Spring Bud Project — Dream of the Future, in early September. It involves social practice through study and research, education aid for realizing girls' dreams, girls' rights protection for their safety and health, one-one-one assistance for growing together and Internet-based public participation. Under this framework, the Spring Bud College will provide disadvantaged girls with vocational training, business start-up guidance and employment recommendations.

The newly-launched Nu Skin Spring Bud College project includes providing scholarships and student subsidies to impoverished schoolgirls at vocational colleges, offering short-term technical courses to impoverished girls aged 12-18, arranging literacy education, organizing study tours after graduation and cooperating with vocational colleges to build an employment platform.

According to the project, the first 100 girls after the project's launch will receive subsidies to help them realize their dreams. The Polus International College is responsible for the implementation of the project.
